This is because our train for Moscow does not leave until 3pm. Strange that this is the earliest train ... or maybe something was lost in translation when we booked the ticket, but oh well. We had some breakfast (our host Irina makes good French toast), and then headed to the store to get some food for the train ride. We found our train without any difficulty and even met two guys from Abbotsford on the platform. The train ride was long (8 hours) and we kept busy playing cards, reading, sleeping and eating "pickles ... um ... extra pickles on my pickles ... cheese ... bunseeds, no bunseeds ... um pickles" (for those that don't know that's a bit from Dane Cook's stand up comedy). In case you couldn't guess, we ate a whole jar of pickles with our bread and cheese on the train. Our train arrived late in Moscow (10:40pm) and being the expert travellers that we are and trying to save some money we decided against having a pick up by our host family. So we hopped on the metro. The metro actually seems kind of safe, even late at night, because there are still lots of people (and not the sketchy looking kind) using it. We only took the train the wrong direction once, and after that we found our way to our destination ...
