Follow Pauline - Episode 3 - Beachley Classic, Sydney

For her rookie year on the WT, Pauline Ado doesn’t have time to get bored. In Sydney, she was competing in her 3rd contest in 2 weeks for the "Commonwealth Bank Beachley Classic" in Dee Why. A spot located in the north of Sydney that Pauline discovered just one day before the start of the competition with a bunch of local surfers and some solid waves (around 6 foot). Certainly not the best conditions to get some confidence on this tricky wave, especially knowing that she will face Stephanie Gilmore (AUS), four times reigning ASP World Champion, in the Round 1. Stephanie's ranking and experience didn't let much chance to Pauline who ended 2nd of the heat, just before Alana Blanchard (HAW), the other International Rip Curl rider of the heat. In Round 2, Pauline Ado faced Melanie Bartels (HAW). The young French rookie dominated the heat until the very last second when Mel managed to take a small but powerful wave good enough to take the lead and advance to Round 3. A frustrating way to leave the competition but an experience every professional surfer has to face in his career. This early elimination didn't take away Pauline's smile who used the last few days of "rest" to visit Sydney with her friend Jessi Miley-Dyer. Manly, Chinatown, the Opera, Harbour Bridge... The city doesn't have any more secret for her. Of course, the competition is never far away and Pauline also kept practicing on a daily basis. For Pauline, Dee Why is the end of a 4 month trip across Australia ...
