We had met some great people while on Caye Caulker and hoped we would be able to return someday. Our guide came to get us and carted our bags to the boat and we headed back to Belize City. We paid him with some smoked salmon we had brought from home. We, of course, said goodbye to Rasta Man. I don't think he had any trouble replacing us with other gullible Americans with cash. From the boat launch we took a taxi to the bus station. Our destination was San Ignacio with a stop at the zoo. The zoo was great and we enjoyed a picnic lunch on the grounds before catching another bus headed toward San Ignacio. After the beauty of Caye Caulker, we were not really impressed with the griminess of San Ignacio. While the Bob Marley gear was half expected on the island it seems the whole country worships him. San Ignacio is filled with pictures of Bob Marley on clothing. It was close to dark when we arrived so we quickly found a hotel and went in search of food and drink.
