The day was not bad some stunning scenery ... again ..... we reached the highest pass been Lhasa and Base Camp where I got to through some Mantra to the wind and put up some prayer flags for the first time..... It was also the day I first saw Everest ..... it was a moment. The town we stayed in wasn't even a one horse one and the hotel we stayed in was very flash...... it was the only buiding in the town that had electricity but only for a fwe hours at night.... Dec and I and the Americans went on a wander through the town and found a outside pool table (see the pics, highest in the world !! over 5000m). There was no one around so we just started playing and before you know it we had an audience of half the town (who didn't speak English), the kids were having a great laugh with us. After 3 hours we firmly whipped the Americans..... That evening the expediation team presented me with a birthday card and a friendship scarf (tradtional gift) and I even got a cake rounded off with a session...... oh yes and they did sing happy birthday, with the rest of the guests joining in....."
