ModCloth’s Bow-Wow Contest: MILLER

Miller and Emily (aka eyesofcuriosity) He’s my 17 month old Great Dane/Lab mix, he weighs about 121 pounds. And is the strangest and most polite animal alive. Side story: He was rescued by a shelter from a really horrible shelter. He lived at the first shelter for 3 months; received zero shots, zero preventative for contagious illnesses, and zero deworming. When they first rescued him he weighed 26 pounds, and for a Great Dane mix that's kind shabby at 3 months old. The second shelter rescued him, along with 27 other pups, who were up for euthanasia. Within two weeks he was up to a healthy 36.7 pounds and ready to come home with me. His tail was already docked when his birth owners dropped him off at the horrible shelter. It's kind of a blessing because now he's the happiest puppy alive. He even wags his tail in his sleep. He's also a very vivid dreamer, he has--on more that one occasion--been running full speed and stopped to drink some water. It's so cute, with each lap his tongue sticks out a little more. :D Anytime I try to photograph to video tape it he wakes up. :( My vet says that some black labs can have spotted tongues (it's a popular question), but I will say that his brother (Miller's sister and brother were among the 27--all happily living spoiled lives) definitely had some Chow in him--at least the Chow fir. He's named after the writer Henry Miller. Sorry this is long, I typed to distract myself from the tediously slow upload.
