Congress- No Money For Unemployed U.S. Workers But Plenty For War in Afghanistan

iReport — Does the U.S. Government have a clear policy in Afghanistan and for this country? The question has been raised since General Stanley McChrystal resigned. What are we doing in Afghanistan? Our goal in Afghanistan now seems to be one of "nation building. The terrorists have been killed! What about the United States and it’s people? Can we take a break from war for a while and fix our country?We can spend billions of U.S. taxpayers money for war and building infrastructure for Iraq and Afghanistan but very little here for the unemployed, those in foreclosure, to create jobs and help people hurt by this recession. Congress allowed the jobs to be outsourced by American companies while taking bribes (contributions) from these corporations  but fails to fund and implement a job program to put millions of people back to work such as Eisenhower did with the "Interstate Highway System". Congress has a responsibility to American people more so than corporations. The GOP has filibustered the extended unemployment benefits again for 1.2 million American workers. Do Republicans believe that by keeping the economy from improving, voters will reward them in November? Constant war is what's wrong with our country. We're always at war. It's time to bring our troops home and care for people here for a change. Invest the war money here. The United States' Government always has money for war but never for the programs that benefit the American people. This Great Recession is far from being over. The GOP "worry" , so they say, about deficits and unfunded programs. It appears they care more about getting re-elected than for their constituents. The time to take care of deficits is when the recession is over and joblessness comes down. Time to bring the troops home and invest the money in the United States and our people. Jobs would be nice to have again. Good paying jobs. What do you think? ***
