They won${q}t know, but Bill gives the answer and if you remember it you${q}ll win hands down next time. All the essential amino acids, fatty acids, and true vitamins are made only by plants. But how come all the phytonutrients and antioxidants are also made only by plants? What${q}s the difference between an essential nutrient and an essential metabolite, and why do we keep on with that shaggy 1904 neologism "Vitamin" when all it does is confuse the question? Is our poor conversion rate of the carotenoids to retinoids evidence that we${q}re really carnivores or is it evidence that we${q}re plant eaters trying to stay out of retinoid toxicity?
