We were going to head to Phuket but we read and heard froma a few people that its not that nice a place at all now. So we arrived in Krabi after a shocking long bus journey on a local bus. The driver kept stopping every five minutes to pick up someone or to go into the shops for a drink or something to eat, so we were two hours late arriving. So were were just about to head onto a taxi into Krabi town when we started talking to a few other people. Theu were heading straight to Ao Nang beach about a half hour down teh road. They were there before and said it was a fairly nice place so we changed our minds there and then and jumped in their taxi to Ao Nang. We checked ourselves into a cheap enough hotel as it is low season here. It was a good decision to head to here. Ao Nang is spectacular, it is so much nicer a place than Koh Samui or any of the other islands on the west coast. The beach is surrounded by massive limestone cliffs and the water is so clear. The town it self is grand, but when you arrive you can easily see all the warning signs around the town for tsumani's. This area was hit by it in 2004.
