The Week Ahead: February 22nd-25th

Here’s a look at what the earnings and economic calendars look like next week - the week of February 21st. No earnings or economic reports are due out on Monday the 21st since the markets will be closed, so enjoy your Presidents' Day off. Tuesday, February 22nd will pick up the week's earnings with a full day of reports from Medco Health Solutions (MHS), Barnes & Noble Inc. (BKS), Home Depot Inc. (HD), Office Depot Inc. (ODP), Wal-Mart Stores (WMT), Chesapeake Energy (CHK), Hewlett-Packard (HPQ), RadioShack Corp (RSH), Petrohawk Energy (HK), Evergreen Solar (ESLR), Macy's (M), and NRG Energy (NRG). In economic data, be on the lookout for the CaseShiller Home Price Index due out at 9AM ET and the Consumer Confidence report at 10AM ET.    Earnings for Wednesday, February 23rd include reports from Denbury Resources (DNR), Toll Brothers (TOL), KKR & Co (KKR), Chico's FAS (CHS), American Tower Corp (AMT), Saks (SKS), TJX Cos (TJX), Ltd. Brands (LTD), Flowserve Corp (FLS), EXCO Resources (XCO), Lowe's Cos (LOW), DIRECTV (DTV), Dollar Tree (DG), priceline.com (PCLN), and Fluor Corp (FLR). At 10AM, watch for Existing Home Sales data in economic news. It's another full day of earnings on Thursday, February 24th. We'll hear from Safeway (SWY), Mylan Inc. (MYL), MetroPCS Communications (PCS), Sears Holdings (SHLD), The St. Joe Co (JOE), Newmont Mining (NEM), and Iron Mountain (IRM). Also look for earnings reports from Kohl's (KSS), General Motors (GM), CROCS Inc (CROX), Gap (GPS), American International (AIG), First Solar (FSLR), Salesforce.com (CRM), Autodesk (ADSK), and Target (TGT). Also set to report on Thursday: Applied Materials (AMAT), DISH Network (DISH), EchoStar Corp (SATS), Deckers Outdoor Corp (DECK), and Human Genome Sciences (HGSI). Economic reports scheduled to be released on Thursday will be out early on in the trading day with Initial Jobless Claims and Durable Goods Orders figures available at 8:30AM ET.
