www.amazon.com www.myspace.com Lexi is the newest up and coming hip hop/pop star to break out from the Hawaiian Islands. Being born and raised on Maui, the artist’s sound is not one that you would expect, but spending a few years in between elementary and high school in Ojai California had a major influence on the artists musical styles. The 20 year old Lahaina native was enrolled in dance lessons at the Maui Academy of Performing Arts at the age of 2 and continued studying dance ranging from tap, jazz, ballet, modern, to hula, and belly dancing for 6 years in Maui and 5 years in Ojai at the Ojai Dancers Studio. All the while a passion for singing and acting was building as Lexi was also performing in musical theater productions with the Ojai Youth Theater Company. This soon became her main focus and she found herself performing in 27 musical theater productions by the age of 16, becoming a regular on the Performing Arts page in the Ojai Valley News. After relocating back to Maui to finish high school, also taking back with her a talent of baton twirling and fire twirling, Lexi put the performing arts on the back burner to become a swimsuit model and coach the Lahainaluna Majorettes. After graduation, Lexi became the face of SuitYourself Bikinis and soon found a liaison between the modeling and the music industry where she realized a void of self expression that could only been filled through music.
