福島第1原発事故　東京電力、地下水汚染を防ぐ遮蔽(しゃへい)壁の着工前倒しを検討

東京電力は、福島第1原発事故の収束に向けた工程表の見直しを進めている中で、建屋から出た放射性物質が地下水を汚染するのを防ぐ遮蔽(しゃへい)壁について、着工の前倒しを検討していると明らかにした。東京電力は会見で、「(遮蔽壁は)ステップ2で、期限を待たずに着手することはあり得ると思っています」と述べた。福島第1原発では、放射性物質により汚染された地下水が海に流れ込むことが懸念されていて、東京電力では、1〜4号機の建屋周辺の地下に壁を埋め込むことで、放射性物質の流出を食い止めたいとしている。遮蔽壁の設置については、現在の工程表では、7月中旬から始まるステップ2の期間内に「検討」としているが、東京電力では、前倒しして、19日に改訂する工程表に「着工」として盛り込みたい考え。一方、台風6号の接近にともない、雨水による汚染水の増加が懸念されていて、東京電力では、3号機のタービン建屋の屋根に空いている複数の大きな穴を、鋼鉄製のプレートで18日にもふさぐ予定。
