ESPN Challenge

The tournament has 64 players in this years field. Today was a practice round for the tournament that begins tomorrow and it was also the ESPN challenge which Head andamp;lt;a href=andamp;quot; class=andamp;quot;kxInlineLinkandamp;quot;andamp;gt;Golfandamp;lt;/aandamp;gt; Professional Todd Lee talked about earlier this afternoon. (TODD LEE)andamp;quot;Well first of all its our Evergreen member guest is for three days and our first round is a practice round and at the same time its the ESPN challenge. Thats a tournament that they have been running nation wide ESPN has for I think this is probably the 4th or 5th year of it. Basically what it is its when a partner, a member and guest in our case. They play in a gross division without handicap and a net division. We’ll advance probably 3 or 4 teams from here that play in a regional site. Then if they continue on then they play at the national site in Las Vegas in October. Last year we had a couple of our teams that qualified here actually ended up qualifying at regionals and then moving on to the nationals. So it was kind of exciting. The ESPN challenge was suspended due to weather conditions but will open up play again tomorrow morning. Anyone that qualifies in the local tournament qualifies for the Regional tournament, that will be held on August 17th in Las Vegas, and if they qualify for nationals that will also be in Las Vegas from the 22nd through the 24th of October.
