Will Obama Give the "Car Keys" Back to Republicans?

iReport — If you put the car in "R" it goes in reverse. Right? When you put the car in "D" it goes forward. President Obama’s rhetoric was powerful before the midterm elections, now it seems like he's ready to cave in to the GOP. When your kid nags you enough, sometimes you'll give in just because they wore you down. Not in this case. Obama is meeting with Mitch McConnell and John Boehner this week. They finally found time in their busy schedules to see our President. President Obama's defining moment of his Presidency will be in saying,"No", to extending the Bush Tax Cuts for the wealthiest Americans- the top 2%. Yes, President Obama has accomplished much the last 22 months. We didn't get everything we wanted but we fought hard to make changes and accomplished much. The change in sentiment by some Americans this last election wasn't a mandate for the GOP to do whatever to hell they want. Americans voted for jobs. So where are they? The GOP says it will rein in debt and cut our nation's deficit. How? Ask them and they say by extending the Tax Cuts for the wealthy. How does adding $700 billion to the deficit diminish it? If President Obama caves in on this important line in the sand, he will lose his base and Democrats will see him exposed as less than what we believed he stood for- "Change you can believe in". I don't want to be the hostage that Obama feels he need to negotiate for while the GOP hold unemployment benefits and tax cuts for middle class American hostage so they can get tax cuts for their rich buddies. I release Obama from his obligation to extend my tax cuts if it means that he will have to give the top 2% their tax cuts as well. Most Americans understand what is at stake and will join our President in standing up to unreasonable fiscal policy. Warren Buffet and Bill Gates say they can pay more in taxes. So why aren't more of the  rich stepping up? This must be the difference between wimpy millionaires and confident billionaires. If President Obam...
