"Oz"- Friesian Heritage Horse- For Sale

Oz is a very athletic Friesian X Paint gelding. He is just about 16 hands, and was born May 2004. He is black-bay with a beautiful full mane, tail, and some feathers to boot. Dont let the Paint in his pedigree fool you- this guy moves like a Friesian! He has three balanced, uphill gaits that are improving with consistant work. This horse has good ground manners- he stands tied without complaint, enjoys being brushed, lunges in side reins, stands for the farrier and vet, and is UTD on his teeth, feet, shots, and coggins. He will soon be registered with the Friesian Heritage Horse Assoc. I am re-starting him with dressage in mind. He walks, trots, canters both directions, stops easy, backs easy, and is quickly learning a leg yeild and how to move his shoulders and hips under saddle. He is a smart cookie, however, he is clearly unfinished. He has boldly trotted cavaletti and doesnt want to touch a pole! He has free-jumped up to around 3ft with ease. He is green, and not for a novice rider. He would do fine with an experienced young person who is working with a trainer. I was told he was trail ridden before I had him, and that he was energetic, but not spooky. I think he would be an inexpensive option for someone looking for the beautiful movement of a Friesian in a smaller package. Wonderful dressage or great medium/low level eventing prospect. Very forward thinking. Price to go up with training, registration, shows, and recognized gait inspections! Currently at $2000.00 ...
