平野達男復興担当相は9日、就任後初めて被災地の岩手県と宮城県を訪問し、それぞれの知事と会談した。地元でもある岩手県を訪れた平野復興担当相は、達増(たっそ)知事と会談し、「復興計画を作るのは大変。県と国がタッグを組んでやりたい」と述べ、復興基本方針を7月中にまとめるとの強い意欲を見せた。平野復興担当相は「復旧復興を進めるにあたって、地域の声を聴くということは非常に大事なこと」と述べた。また宮城県では、村井知事が平野復興担当相を部屋の前で出迎え、固い握手を交わした。会談で、平野復興担当相は「松本前大臣については、いろいろお騒がせをしたが、辞任という大変厳しい措置を自らとったことで、1つのけじめをつけた。前向きに1日も早く、復旧復興に取り組むことが、わたしたちの使命だ」と述べ、7月中にまとめられる復興基本方針への理解と協力を求めた。
