On Nov 9, 2009, in Whippany, NJ, from about 1 PM till 3 PM, we had the rare treat of seeing at least 8 halos, some pretty rare, maybe once-in-a-lifetime: 1.22 degree halo around the sun www.atoptics.co.uk 2.parhelia (not shown in the video) www.atoptics.co.uk 3.upper tangental arc www.atoptics.co.uk 4.circumzenithal arc www.atoptics.co.uk 5.parhelic circle www.atoptics.co.uk 6.supralateral arc (I think?) www.atoptics.co.uk 7. parry arc (the upper "eyelid" at around 1:40) www.atoptics.co.uk 8. 120 degree parhelia (the white spots on the parhelic circle in the video at 0:19 and 0:23). www.weatherscapes.com The parry arc is about 100 times rarer than the 22 degree halo!
