This meant we go the whole area to ourselves. We chose the corner spot smack dab next to a field of cows who happened to be pretty friendly. Since there was no rain in the immediate forecast we were able to leave the tent up without the (not so waterproof) fly. We grilled quesedillas over the fire while marveling in the fact that we had access to real showers. Today we drove north from Renfro Valley to the Lexington area to soak in the bourbon and horses. The land is incredible! Rolling hills, groomed horse pastures, blackboard fencing (for you horse nerds out there!). We arrived at the Kentucky Horse Park where we were able to see the show grounds of the world equestian games and other neat competitions. We walked all over the park and saw tonds of horses. While it was kind of a bummer to find out the place in under constuction, Sarah was excited to know that they were preparing for the 2010 World Equestian Games. Around 1:00 we headed for Woodford Reserve, the oldest Bourbon Distillery in the world (for a lesson on the making of bourbon see the photos!).
