B J Penn Book Signing- Why I Fight

iReport — Hundreds of dedicated fans lined up outside of Bookends in Ridgewood, New Jersey for the signing of BJ Penn’s new book Why I Fight. Devon McGuire was the first to be on line. He took the two-hour ride from Brooklyn, New York. He had been on line for hours and said it is all worth it to see BJ.Emmett Bucalo, a 5 mouth old and the youngest BJ Penn fan, looked as excited as his father who had him strapped to him in a carrier. They both live in town and the father has been a UFC fan since 93. Emmett was not the only young fan. Anthony Covsi, 36, brought his 7-year-old son Nick. They drove an hour and 20 minutes from Hamilton Twp. Nick is a very big BJ Penn fan, he said he likes him because “he fights well and he can jump out of a pool with out using his hand”.Jackie from Bloomindales, who has a web site said that her and her husband have been together since 2000 because of the UFC. They plan their time together around the UFC. She said that “it is great we always talk about the fights, we always something to talk about”.The excitement seemed to grow the closer you got to the entry door. Once inside you could feel the excitement. I was a Penn fan to start with but I never expected to find out what he is really like. In the Octagon he does not seem to be a person I would like. His fighting skills are outstanding, but the man himself I didn’t think I would like so much. I couldn’t have been more wrong. BJ Penn has got to be one of the most personable people I have ever met. The man is truly greatness. He took the time to talk with everyone and was generally interested in what everyone said. Who ever was in charge of the book signing tour wanted to make sure that everyone that bought a book was able to get it signed. This meant that if you had something besides a book you wanted signed, too bad. Not according to BJ Penn, he was in no way going to let even one fan down. He told all who had other things that they wanted sign...
