Immer wieder blitzen plötzlich kurze Erinnerungen an das Grauen auf - Nina F. ist vor 30 Jahren als Kind von ihren Eltern sexuell missbraucht worden. Seit 20 Jahren sucht sie eine geeignete Therapie, um ihr Trauma zu verarbeiten. Aber sie findet einfach keinen geeigneten Therapeuten. Wie ihr geht es zehntausenden Missbrauchsopfern in Deutschland, die jahrelang auf einen Therapieplatz warten müssen. Häufig sind die Krankenkassen nicht bereit, die Kosten einer Therapie zu übernehmen. Am 24. Mai legt der Runde Tisch zum sexuellen Kindesmissbrauch eine Bilanz seiner Arbeit vor. Doch was hat er in einem Jahr wirklich erreicht? Die Dokumentation entlarvt zahlreiche Politiker-Forderungen und Beteuerungen als Lippenbekenntnisse. Insbesondere die therapeutische Versorgung Tausender Opfer weist nach wie vor eklatante Mängel auf. Auch Hilfsangebote für pädophile Männer sind rar. Trotz eindeutiger Warnungen von Experten ist die Ausbildung dringend benötigter Ärzte, Gutachter und Therapeuten weiterhin vollkommen unzureichend. Das zuständige Bundesgesundheits-Ministerium und die Bundesärztekammer scheuen Verbesserungen - offenbar aus Kostengründen. Anstatt sinnvoll in Prävention zu investieren und damit langfristig sogar Geld zu sparen, riskieren die Verantwortlichen damit weitere kindliche Opfer.Die Dokumentation begleitet zwei Betroffene, ein Missbrauchsopfer und einen pädophilen Mann, zeigt aber auch vereinzelte Lichtblicke. So setzt sich ein FDP-Bundestagsabgeordneter aus Schwerin dafür ein, die frühzeitige Begutachtung von Sexualstraftätern im Gerichtsverfahren gesetzlich verankern zu lassen. Bisher werden diese Täter nämlich nicht auf ihre Gefährlichkeit und Rückfallgefahr hin untersucht und deshalb auch kaum therapiert.
