Compute Platform with Michael Kellen and Martin Morgan Sage Bionetworks - Mission Bay Conference CenterCommunity of Interest Workgroup E: Compute Platform with Michael Kellen and Martin Morgan Part 1: Survey of other efforts In part 1 of the platform workshop we will hear short presentations from a small subset of the group members. The goal is to have a brief survey of some of the key projects across the bioinformatics landscape and understand how they relate to the Sage platform. Part 2: Break-out discussions Part 2 is an open discussion forum for participants to help guide the development of the Sage platform. Based on the knowledge the attendees gain of the work at Sage and their previous experience, how should the platform vision be refined? What are the most critical priorities for development? What opportunities for collaboration exist? What are the things to watch out for. APRIL 15, 2011 PART 2: COMMUNITIES OF INTEREST The second Sage Bionetworks Commons Congress will be held in San Francisco on April 15-16, 2011. The theme will be the move towards personalized, patient-driven medicine, and the role that Sage Bionetworks can play in that transition. Expect reports from the Sage Federation, Working Groups, and exciting projects like SageCite, poster sessions and evening activities. The second part of the Congress will engage the audience directly in one of five Sage Bionetworks "Communities of Interest." There will be opportunities for hard science engagement, construction of advocacy plans, policy discussions, research presentations, and briefings on progress and external efforts. The workgroups will focus on: What is needed next? How can I help build it and how can we ensure it leverages existing efforts?
