There Wasn’t A Perfect Name For A Perfect Love Written by Richard Garcia The walkway led to an incredible abyss, a floating bedroom of low-lit candles and incense, a bed of pillows and warm air. The gentle rock of the boat had a rhythm unknown, married to the fathoms beneath. Muted sounds of lovers speaking, making love, walking in the cabin within, embracing the bliss that each kiss would bring, laughing, and playing, like children from a forgotten reef. We gave the boat a name, and it became a shelter from the storm. So many stones were thrown, from those that never understood our love. We could name who they were, what they said and what they did to hurt us. We could still hear their anger, from the distant shore. The boat became our haven, It protected us from all of this kayos. I still see the floating dreams, healing us. Should we speak about the wind, and how proud we were to spread our wings? I became a navigator, and you became the wife of my heart. The empty slip is now a dream of the past. No one knew the steps we took, to have this peace. No one understood our need to protect this bliss, or why we fought to save its kiss. This walkway led to paradise on earth, To the warmth of a second sun, and only lovers knew of its existence. It didn't matter what we named the boat, In fact, it was hard to do.
