In this day and age of dazzling 3-D movies, breathtaking IMAX presentations, and James Cameron blockbusters it is easy for someone to have the desire to be a filmmaker. However, you all know that but it takes the rare combination of raw talent, perseverance and hours in the editing lab to make this ambition a reality. My name is Donald Richbourg, and I am here today because of my status as a Christian, a veteran serving in Iraq, and novice filmmaker. Throughout history, we have seen how religious faith can also be used to divide countries, friends and families. Wars are fought and casualties suffered because of intolerance, ignorance and hatred faith and beliefs. Film has been used more often as a medium that can transcend these prejudices, and it is because of that fact that we are here tonight. I now have the extreme honor to present to you former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, the founder of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation and the sponsor of the Film Faith Awards. Tony Blair was born on May 6, 1953 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He graduated from Oxford in 1975 and after a short stint as a public attorney eventually rose to become the British Labour Party leader. While specializing in employment and commercial law, he became increasingly involved in Labour Party politics and in 1983 was elected to the House of Commons to the safe Labour parliamentary seat.
