WALMART ABANDONS US

This Walmart/Sams was located in New Orleans East before hurricane Katrina. Our neighborhood supported it for many years. Now in a time when we really need somewhere to shop they have abandoned us. This Walmart was located 2 to 3 miles from my neighborhood and now I travel over to a area called the Westbank. I have to travel 19.24 miles to get there. If I travel to another one store located on Tchoupitoulas St ( try and pronounce that) I will have to travel 14.62 miles. When gas was 4.00 a gallon this was very hard and it was not like we had a choice at that time because we still did not have anywhere to buy groceries. Now we have one Winn Dixie store that rips us off with very high prices. We heard that Walmart bought some land out here and sometimes I think it was to stop another store from coming here because they are still getting our money and we are helping other areas grow giving our tax dollars to them when we need it to rebuild our area.. The last rumor I heard was it was coming to our area in 2011. And then someone was passing around a petition to sign to beg them to come back. Shame on you Walmart!
