I took the address of the one hostel I wanted to stay in off the internet, it had a washer and dryer, Yaay! Alas, not only could I not find the address on the road they said it was on, but even someone who lived in the area, said there wasn't one. As usual, someone was looking out for me, and a tourist, overheard my plight and told me about the place I am staying now. Lesson: Take more than one address, verify on google maps, and be prepared! Something, I am really not good at and may never be. Venice is not quite what I expected, the Venice I have seen on movies, is not quite what the reality is. There are small c****s, large c****s and a beautiful open body of water. Everyone seems to hang out laundry amongst the buildings and it's an opportunity for great photos. I ate pizza, in the tourist area, mucho money, should have listened to the guide book and went off the beaten path. It was delicious though. I ate gelato which was cheap, but not very good, so still on the quest for good gelato. So, after wandering around Venice for hours, I came back to the hostel, a youth hostel.
