Pardhi is a tribe found in the Indian States of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. The criminal branding of the tribe goes back to 1871 after the British passed the "Criminal Tribes Act". Pardhi are a nomadic tribe and they move from one temporary shelter to another. For them poaching remains the basic subsistence activity. Every pardhi has inherited the art of hunting and is adept in trapping and hunting animals. They use crude methods and are ruthless when killing wild animals from birds to all forms of herbivores to wild dogs and even the magnificient Tiger. They use foot traps to kill. No animal that moves in the wild can escape their trap. For catching small animals, the pardhis use traps made of animal guts. For big carnivores, they lay the body snares, leg hold snares or the foot traps. Poaching is the biggest threat and Pardhis are the worst menace when it comes protecting the endangered wildlife.
