We stopped again at the little town where the drivers took their lunch and we ended up entertaining a horde of little kids. This time was a short stop and pretty eventless. Since it was an absolutely beautiful day we were gonna make the drive all the way to the Everest chinese base camp - or thats what it’s called by the tibetans, it's actually just a viewpoint with a chinese military post. If u went across a certain line u needed to pay $200 fine/permit fee to approach everest any closer. The entire drive leading up to Everest was amazing, as we could see it well in advance, and were literally on a road heading straight into it! But when we got there it was worth it, the view of Everest was awsome! On the way back to Rongpu Monastery (our campsite for the night), which we passed on the way to the viewpoint; we stopped at a small sacred spring where all the tibetan drivers started ritually springing it on their head. We were told to fill a water bottle up with it, and to put 2 stones in: that way u can refill the bottle and the water will stay holy! :P Rongpu Monastery use to be split into a monastery and a nunnery.
