Meet the Spartans

You were a fan of last year’s low-budget, break-out hit 300, right? And you'd have to have a very hard heart indeed not to have gotten a kick out of Ben Stiller's Bob De Niro vehicle, Meet the Parents. Well in the tradition of Hollywood spoof movies dating back all those years to, ooh, Scary Movie - taking in Scary Movies 2, 3 and 4 as well as Not another Teen Movie and Date Movie - Meet the Spartans is here to pillory pop culture once again. Notable for featuring Kevin 'You remember I was Hercules, right?' Sorbo in a lead role (which should give you some indication as to the quality of this movie), Meet the Spartans is a one way ticket to train wreck which not even Carmen Electra in a skimpy outfit can redeem. So what's the plot? Well I use the word plot with a pinch of salt because Meet The Spartans doesn't really have one. It's roughly an hours worth of sketches sending up films such as 300, Happy Feet and Shrek. And they're all performed by men in leather skirts. Hurrah. This is a special film, a very very special film indeed. It's a triumph, an exceptional piece of work, a landmark in filmmaking. Yes — ladies and gentlemen, I proudly present to you the worst film ever made. Actually, when I say 'worst', I'm doing a disservice to the word 'worst'. The word 'worst' has a use, it's able to describe something that isn't very good. This film has no use except to act as a platform for a torrent of homophobic jokes, nob gags and in-movie commercials for soft drink brands ...
