政府が発動する電力使用制限令に対する各企業の消費電力削減への取り組みを取材しました。
政府は7月1日、この夏の最大使用電力を15%削減するよう求める電力使用制限令を発動します。消費電力の削減にどう取り組むのか、各企業を取材しました。暑い夏に欠かせない冷たい飲み物。飲料業界では、自動販売機の冷却を輪番で止めるための設定が、急ピッチで進められている。コカ・コーラでは、設置場所ごとにグループ分けして、「輪番冷却」をすることによって、使用電力を3割程度削減(前年比)できるとしているが、気になるのは、きちんと冷えているかという点。東京・新宿区で、冷却機能が停止された状態の自動販売機で水を買ってみると、かなり冷えた状態が保たれていた。購入者が多い時間帯を避け、なるべく商品を冷えた状態で提供できるよう、工夫しているという。また昭和シェル石油は、全国で200カ所を超えるガソリンスタンドに、太陽光パネルを設置する作業を進めている。全部あわせると、一般家庭およそ300戸分に相当する発電ができるという。一方、群馬・太田市の富士重工業株式会社 群馬製作所矢島工場では、午前9時、普段であればおよそ1,300人が作業をしている時間帯ということだが、機械は停止し、工場内に人影はなかった。自動車メーカー14社は、7月から9月にかけ、全国の工場の休日を木曜日と金曜日とし、代わりに土・日に工場を稼働させる予定。このうち、東京電力管内では、自動車メーカーや部品メーカーなど43社が、「休日シフト」などによる対策を行い、ピーク時の電力使用量を15%カットする。しかし、自動車業界は、東日本大震災で打撃を受けた生産が見通しより早く回復しており、これまでの節電対策を見直す動きも出ている。自動車業界をはじめ、各企業は今後、生産と節電をどう両立させるかが課題となる。
