"We were parked in a nice spot by the sea and a very short walk to Hahei beach, a lovely white sand beach with clear blue sea and hardly any people to be found. It has been lovely and sunny for the last week and quite hot, probably around 25 degrees on average. Even so the sea water is a little cold for swimming so we decided to go on a kayak trip to cathedral cove. This is a famous beach used in Narnia 2, please note I am not recommending the film as it was poo but worth checking out the beginning for various New Zealand locations. Anyway after another lazy morning we headed down to the beach for the half day kayak trip. We had to work pretty hard as it was quite windy but it didn’t take too long to get to Cathedral Cove. As you can reach that beach by foot it was a little busy but plenty of space for relaxing. Our guide also brought Starbucks with him and made us amazing Mochaccinos with homemade cookies, just what we needed. The kayak back was even harder and the wind was very gusty, there was a higher chance of being flipped! I didn't much like the sound of that but soldiered on, whimpering. We managed to make it through a cave and around a small island before getting back to Hahei. We followed this by having a nice meal at the Grange.
