So here is a short entry for your enjoyment... After leaving Oxford yesterday I traveled south to try and find Jenny and Leslie's cottage. This turned out to be quite an ordeal as it turns out the 'estate' is hidden down a maze of countless (tiny) country lanes. It ended up taking me hours, and many blank looks for startled country folk, to find Wadwick house (pronounced Wawick if you are landed gentry). As I didn't arrive until around 4:30pm there was only enough time for a brief tour of the grounds before we headed off to the local (in the next village) for a classic country pub meal. Wadick house and grounds are fairly grand and Jenny's Thatched cottage is very comfy and beautiful... On the way to the pub I was taken on a bit of a tour around the area (not that there was much that I missed while I was lost...), which was really good as the place is very genteel (apparently James Blunt is hidden down one of the laneways, smart move as I should think he is pretty safe from being found by papparazzi). The area is very beautiful, upmarket and full of country estates, plenty of thatched roofs, tiny and intact villages and heaps of pheasants, deer, grouse and rabbits running around ...
