[뉴스웨이TV] 한나라당, 현명관 제주지사 후보 공천 박탈 : 공천,도덕성,무소속출마,박탈,사무총장,정병국,제주지사,한나라당,현명관,후보ㆍ영상길이 : 01:33ㆍ등록자 : 뉴스웨이ㆍ등록일시 : 2010.05.11 (18:20) [촬영/편집 = 이인수 기자](서울=뉴스웨이 윤미숙 기자) 한나라당이 11일 친동생이 금품 살포 혐의로 구속된 현명관 제주지사 후보의 공천권을 박탈하기로 결정했다. 한나라당 정병국 사무총장은 이날 국회에서 기자회견을 갖고 "한나라당에서는 그동안 투명하고 객관적이면서도 도덕성을 기준으로 공천을 해왔다"며 "제주지사 후보 건은 직접 후보와 관련된 사안은 아니지만, 후보자의 가족이고 그 자체가 우리 진영에서 일어났다는 것만 가지고도 도덕적으로 책임져야 한다고 생각해 제주지사 후보의 공천권을 박탈하기로 했다"고 밝혔다. 한나라당 정병국 사무총장은 "친동생이 구속되면서 사태가 일단락됐고 지지율에 끼치는 영향도 바닥을 찍었기 때문에 그냥 가더라도 당선가능성이 있다고 판단되지만, 그럴 경우 그간 지켜온 원칙이 무너질 수 있다고 판단했다"고 설명했다. 이어 한나라당 정병국 사무총장은 "제주지사 후보가 경선을 통해 결정됐는데, 그런 과정을 밟은 뒤에 또 다시 후보를 공천한다는 것은 맞지 않는다고 판단, 제주지사 후보는 내지 않기로 했다"고 덧붙였다. 현명관 제주지사 후보의 공천권 박탈 및 제주지사 후보 무(無)공천에 대해선 당 최고위원 대다수가 동의한 것으로 전해졌으며, 내일(12일) 최고위원회의에서 최종 결정된다. 한편 한나라당 정병국 사무총장은 이날 오전 현명관 후보와 만나 공천권 박탈 결정에 대해 의견을 교환한 것으로 알려졌다. 이와 관련, 한나라당 정병국 사무총장은 "현명관 후보가 계속 뛸 수 있게 해달라는 의사를 밝히다가, 당이 (공천권 박탈을) 한다고 하면…(수용하겠다고 했다)"며 "현명관 후보가 자진사퇴와 무소속 출마 중 고민하고 있는 듯 하다"고 전했다. /윤미숙 기자 기사 제보 및 보도자료(뉴스웨이) pressdot@newsway.kr
