Vidalia, Georgia The Vidalia Onion Committee and Universal Music Group Nashville are teaming up for a promotional campaign with a slogan titled "American Favorites!" Starting in May, the Vidalia Onion Committee will be searching for the best lyrics in the first ever Vidalia Onion Jingle Contest. The Committee will also be offering free music downloads from more than 400000 songs in the Universal Music catalog. Vice President of Marketing for Universal Music Group Nashville, Tom Lord, stated "Country Music and Vidalia Onions are both proud products of the South that are enjoyed by folks from all over the country, so it was a natural fit." Vancouver, British Columbia The Oppenheimer Group and greenhouse grower Divemex are teaming up to introduce the first and only Fair Trade Certified peppers to the North American market. For every 11-pound box of Fair Trade Certified Divemex peppers sold in the US and Canada from now until the end of May, 50 cents will be deposited into a Divemex bank account. The money will be used for several needs such as scholarships and improving health care facilities. Oppenheimer’s CEO John Anderson is pleased that Divemex made Fair Trade peppers an option for their customers.
