We were a bit nervous driving into the camp as the sand was deep and soft and we had visions of getting bogged. I would definately not risk it without a 4WD. We were lucky and managed to get parked safely in a great spot right at the front overlooking the ocean. We had a pretty relaxing day, walking along the beach collecting yet another load of shells. The place was pretty busy with people camped right along the beach. It would have been fantastic for a longer stay, especially with a group of people, but we needed to push on so we left the next morning. Yeppoon had also come highly recommended so we were expecting great things. Personally we felt it was a bit run down and could do with a facelift. The campsite itself was nice. We booked into the Coolwaters Holiday Village which was $37 per night with a pool and a play park for the kids. We had a fairly quiet day. The kids made cards and pictures for Fathers Day and we sneaked into town to get a present for Craig.
