Maccas37’s travel blog entry: "Left at 8.30, dropped Megan and Tom off at school then hit the road. Stopped off at Maccas on the Freeway, refuelled the car at Waroongah, through the Lane Cove Tunnel, Harbour Tunnel, Eastern Distributor to the airport, dropped off the hire car and arrived at check-in @ 11.30am. Too early. Went and sat down, had a drink, went to the toilet, then back to check-in @ midday, then straight through immigration and customs to the departure lounge. Bumped into Grieve and his wife (from church), bought a paper and a pizza and waited until we were called to board the plane at 2.30pm. Plan took off on time @ 3.25pm. Low Fat meals were good and we got served first! My entertainment system broke down after a couple of hours. They tried re-booting it a couple of times but couldn't get it going. Ended up listen to Louise's MP3 player. Stopped in Hong Kong for about 1 ½ hours, then back on the plane. Take off was aborted just as we were about to lift off due to a warning light about tyre pressure. Taxied back to the terminal, refuelled, engineers found it was a faulty warning light and we took off about 1 ¼ late. Arrived London @6.30am, breezed through Customs, got some cash, caught the Heathrow Connect to Paddington. Dropped off the suitcases at Left Luggage. Bought Our Oyster Cards ...
