タイ、日本にガスタービン発電機2基を無償で貸し出しへ　2基の電力生産量は24万世帯分

福島第1原発の事故を受け、タイ政府は、東京電力に発電施設を丸ごと無償で貸し出すことを決定した。タイ政府が日本に貸し出すのは、1995年から稼働している三菱重工製のガスタービン発電機2基で、非常時用として設置されていたもの。2基合わせた電力の生産量は、24万世帯分で、東京電力は、電力需要のピークを迎える夏に備えて、余剰施設がないかタイ政府に打診していた。タイのワンナラットエネルギー相は「タイの政府と電力会社で検討し、日本の被災者を助けるため、2基の発電機を無償で貸すことを決めました」と述べた。発電施設の輸送について、三菱重工は、煙突やタービンなどすべて分解して、船で運ぶとしている。発電機は、8月までには東京近郊に設置され、稼働を開始する見通し。
