Henri Cartier-Bresson n'est pas seulement l'un des photographes les plus reconnus mondialement. Il a également attesté de son intérêt pour le cinéma à travers huit documentaires, réalisés des années 30 à 70. Ce coffret, édité chez MK2, rend hommage à ce "photographe humaniste" et réalisateur en proposant de redécouvrir 5 de ses oeuvres, ainsi qu'une série de documentaires consacré à l'artiste. Contenu du coffret : DVD 1 : - "Victoire de la vie" (1938), documentaire de Henri Cartier-Bresson sur l'entraide médicale au service de l'Espagne républicaine assaillie par les troupes du Général Franco. 47' - "L'Espagne vivra" (1938), documentaire de Henri Cartier-Bresson sur la Guerre d'Espagne, réalisé pour le compte du Secours Populaire, avec un commentaire de Georges Sadoul. 44' - "Le Retour" (1945), un documentaire de Henri Cartier-Bresson qui évoque en images le long chemin harassant de millions d'hommes, prisonniers de guerre, se croisant sur les routes d'Allemagne en chemin vers leurs foyers. 33' - "California Impressions" et "Southern Exposures", deux documentaires en couleur tournés en 1970 pour le compte de la chaîne de télévision CBS News, sont des carnets de voyage d'Henri Cartier-Bresson dans l'Amérique profonde. 25' et 26' DVD 2 : - "Henri Cartier-Bresson, Biographie d'un regard" de Heinz Butler (2003), un des derniers films tournés avec la complicité du photographe. Henri Cartier-Bresson commente plusieurs de ses photos.
