Mankind- A Civilization Worth Meeting? First Contact?

iReport — What would another civilization think as they listened to Earth’s news broadcasts and witnessed the many events here on our home planet? Would they see us as a civilization worth contacting? Many still believe that Man is at the center of the Universe. They believe God created Man, and only Man. Maybe that's not entirely true. Maybe God created the Aliens and they genetically altered the apes that became man. So , God, may have been indirectly involved, but maybe he didn't do it exactly. There are many Worlds besides our own that revolve around distant stars that are capable of sustaining life.As Ellie, the character Jodie Foster  played in Carl Sagan's "Contact" so eloquently pointed out, " In all that space, if we were the only ones, it would be an awful waste of space". It goes past speculation for many that have witnessed these visitors to our World. Of course there are many that simply don't and won't allow themselves to believe alien civilizations exist. Their religion teaches them that God created man and that man somehow is the only being of intelligence in the Universe besides whales and dolphins.. Have you ever given thought to what the discovery or a "First Contact" on a Worldwide basis would mean? What would change? How would we see ourselves after meeting beings that not only were from other planets, but had mastered the science that allowed them to travel the vast distances that separate our Worlds? Others, like Stephen Hawking, say that the first meeting may not go so well. Stephen Hawking quotes Alien about humanity doom on why humans should explore space I'm more of an optimist.
