The torch passing through UBC

iReport — So I caught the setup earlier today and so I of course HAD to see the torch proper.  It was quite an event, there was free cotton candy that I got to enjoy, live music, lots of people, lots more people, apparently giant monopoly, etc.  It’s really a quite neat event, and I'm lucky it was coming right through campus.  It was pretty wet out and of course I had no umbrella, but somehow the cold (but not cold enough for snow) and rain didn't detract me.  Met up with a friend in the bookstore when the guy who carried the torch (guy in white) came in.  My friend gave his camera to some stranger, got a pic of me with the torch, though I've gotta wait till he gets back to his home.  Now if you'll excuse me, I've got what's left of a screwdriver to finish and a midterm to study for.  It's truly vile for professors to give midterms tomorrow, this should be a day of celebration, welcoming, togetherness, and massive amounts of liqour ingestion.  Guess that has to wait till tomorrow night.
