ZL Daily #53 - AT&T’s First LTE Cities, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Android 3.1, Next Gen Eee PC...

So Verizon has their LTE network up and running which means it’s time for competitors like AT&T to start up their 4G LTE network. And it is almost mid-2011 which is when AT&T said their network will be up and running. And today they decided to announce more specific plans. So this summer the network will be turned on in five cities including Atlanta, Houston, San Antonio, Chicago, and Dallas. And then by the end of the year ten more cities will be added to the list. And 20 phones will be 4G phones and a lot of those will be LTE phones this year. So right now there is some mixed information going around about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Google announced at Google I/O it would ship on June 8th but Samsung said it would arrive in a couple of days, but they said that a few days ago. I'm going with Google on this one though. But we have some information that should be correct form Samsung and that is the fact that it will launch with Android 3.1 Honeycomb, Google said the update would be available a few weeks after Google I/O and June 8th is that. ASUS has a whole lot planned for Computex 2011. And one of those is a tablet, but another one is a new version of the ASUS Eee PC. The new model is supposed to be different from the existing models. Maybe that will mean a different operating system like Chrome OS or Android. But the machine is also supposed to be much thinner than the current machines which will be nice.
