$600 Reward for Return of Missing Glock Model 22 semi-automatic handgun

The Board of Directors of Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers has expressed their concern over the loss of an officer’s issued weapon during an arrest at Saturday nights Mardi Gras parade. Crime Stoppers is supportive of the police department's attempt to account for this weapon and is encouraging anyone to call, write or text Crime Stoppers with information as to its whereabouts. Sgt. Jim Taliaferro, Coordinator stated, "Crime Stoppers has authorized $600.00 to be paid to anyone responsible for that recovery and the identity of the tipster will be completely confidential. It is imperative we do all we can to remove this weapon from our community and prevent it from getting into the hands of potentially dangerous persons. It is our goal to assist the police department with the safe recovery of the weapon". What police do know is just before 8:00 pm Saturday night during the parade, several officers were attempting to make an arrest in the 700 block of East Kings Highway when the suspect fled on foot in an apparent attempt to elude authorities. An undercover officer who was on-duty working a plain-clothes vice detail gave chase and ultimately captured the suspect following a short foot pursuit. Officers subsequently escorted the suspect to the Command Post on East Kings Highway to complete the necessary paperwork.
