Home Beyond the Sun - June film

"Home Beyond the Sun" is the story of two girls - Jenna, a 22-year old American teacher, and Chu Lee, an 8-year old Chinese orphan. Together, with the help of the Lord and guidance of His Word, they overcome the adversity of prejudice, persecution, and political oppression to find solace and protection in the bosom of a Christian family. The story explores the social and political realities of China today. The story is one of despair and hope, deceit and compassion, depression and renewal. This story shows the love and devotion of a young woman who loves her Lord. Jenna teaches in a government school in China. The restrictions placed upon her teaching include never mentioning God and sticking to the curriculum as presented. The orphan Chu Lee is a precious and precocious child who sparkles the screen, while delving into your heart. There are some scary scenes, showing the realities of living in Communist China today. Jenna’s faith and depth of conviction is evidenced throughout the film, and the ending is a pleasurable surprise! Highly recommend for all ages.
