NS-BUS CRASH STUDENT

Shot 12/03/2010.## Many of the victims from the bus crash in Vermont have been released from the hospital and are speaking out on Friday night, describing the danger of the crash. When the crash happened, emergency crews from all over Vermont, New Hampshire and even New York were called to the scene to help, and 16 college students were taken to local hospitals all suffering from minor injuries, including cuts and bruises. "My finger, they said it might be a torn ligament," said one student who was on the bus. "I just fell over and hit my head on something, so I’m gonna bruise, but not too bad," said Jennifer Martin, who was injured in the crash. "They were concerned about back and neck injuries, so they took me on a stretcher," said said Greg Olson, a bus passenger. The superficial wounds will heal quickly, but the emotional scars from the terrifying bus ride may last a bit longer. "I got bandaged up and a whole bunch of stuff, but we're alright," said Martin Greenberg, who was injured during the crash. "It's more shock. It's really big shock. I don't think I'll be getting on a bus anytime soon, that's for sure," said Ria Dunlap, a UMass Amherst junior. The 28 UMass students on board were headed for a weekend of skiing in Canada. There trip was cut short, but after an ordeal like this, they are all happy just to go home. "It's a little bit disappointing compared to our trip to Quebec, but I'm glad we're all safe and none of us got severely injured," said Olson. Those students are on their way back to UMass Amherst, and many of them say they realize they are lucky to be alive.##
