Childhood Memories Ep.14-Coneheads(1993) Movie Review

Episode fourteen of childhood memories, my review of the underrated Coneheads(1993) starring Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtin, Robert Knott, Jonathan Penner, Whip Hubley, Howard Napper, Michael Richards, Eddie Griffin, Sinbad, Garrett Morris, Phil Hartman, Dave Thomas, and Laraine Newman. Directed by Steve Barron. (Song in the clip is Kodachrome by Paul Simon. Trivia Scenes featuring Colleen Camp, Ellen Cleghorne, Brian Doyle-Murray, and Conan O’Brien were filmed but cut. Dan Aykroyd took his daughter (Danielle) to see the film being made, and she was so fascinated by the conehead costumes she asked for one of her own. She was cast as Connie age 3 so she could get her own cone. Toward the end when Beldar asks Ronnie if he could have 55 words with him, he does, in fact, say 55 words. The fireworks scene at the football stadium was filmed on the football field of Paramus High School. The French representatives of UIP took great exception to the Coneheads disguising their extra-terrestrial origins by passing themselves off as being French, and insisted that all such mentions be removed from the dialog. This demand was declined. Laraine Newman who portrayed Laarta was the original Connie Conehead on "Saturday Night Live" (1975). The shiny card with the Alien Symbols on it that Michael McKean's character finds in the Coneheads' trailer is a diagram showing the escape-routes out of a Conehead Craft in the event of an emergency landing.
