Once in a while it is nice to opt for a package deal rather than the do-it-yourself. When you do it yourself much is left to interpretation however you can't beat the adventure. With the package deal you get much information about the people/area however you are with 30 other tourists being carted around to places heavily trampled by tourists. But the added bonus is also being able to sit back and enjoy the ride without having to figure out where you are and how to get here and there though that is also part of the adventure. So, occasionally it is nice just to give in and let others take over. Our Mekong Tour visited the largest floating market on the delta, Cham minority village, floating fishing homes, incense making shop (used constantly by Vietnamese for religious/rituals), vermicelli/rice paper production and a fruit farm. We are both enjoying Vietnam very much. The city is clean and nice and hectic. It's funny how much our interpretation of clean has changed since we have been on the road! Also how our definition of maximum capacity has changed as well. You wouldn't believe the amount of items and people that can fit on motorbikes ...
