Wierd Word Weirdness- Hamburger

(YTO 252-115) Something thatI have often wondered but have never found out is how the hamburger got it’s name. Part of the reason I'm curious is because it's called a HAMburger yet there is clearly no HAM in it. Shouldn't it be called a BEEFburger or perhaps a COWburger instead?
