VK3VCM Portable 19th March 2011 in QSO with YT1HA Serbia using Buddipole Deluxe Antenna

VK3VCM operating portable from Indented Head on the Bellarine Peninsula, near Geelong, Victoria, Australia. This is a QSO with Zik, YT1HA from Belgrade, Serbia (12896 km away!). Running 100 watts from a Kenwood TS590s into a Buddipole Deluxe portable amateur radio antenna system configured for 40m but using the tuner in the TS590 transceiver so I could use 20m without having to take the Buddipole down to adjust it for 20m. This of course does degrade the performance of the antenna as it’s not resonant on the band I was using however I was a bit lazy on this occasion! This video does show however what a great little antenna system the Buddipole really is. Even when not set up for 20m, I'm still able to get from Australia to Serbia and hold a clear QSO.
