Music for Kitchens and Song 11 : Song 12

One day, I watched the TV while twittering. I was watching Brian Eno on BBC4 [1] and typed 'Eno' into the search part of Tweetdeck. I noticed a couple of people I follow in Twitter appear on this channel. We arranged to meet up and we did. During a drink at Common in the Manchester, and while Guy was at the bar, David and I both discovered we had both had both backgrounds in music and had both used Garageband to make music based on minimal musical skills. The next day David e-mailed me 'Music for Kitchens.' My 'Song 11' was a lot shorter, so I copied and pasted it on one track so that both our efforts lasted the same length of time. I panned one to the left and another to the right and made Song 12 To make the video I recorded me sending the e-mail with the attachment of Song 11 to David. I am pleased with the key noises, and also a kind of sea sounding background noise. I think this was possibly the sound of the fan in the computer as it rapidly heated up. So this video is not really a video of the song, the process of making it added to the sound track. During a long deep period of fandom dedicated to the La's, I think I came to know what he meant. To my astonishment Steve Lillywhite appeared on the Eno documentary contradicting the Mavers account of LillyWhite's studio philosophy. It is immensely sad that the La's had to be overproduced by anyone, but hearing that LillyWhite now claiming to have always worked in a way which treasured mistakes and 'dust' despite evidence against him, raises passions last visited from pub conversations involving cigarettes. Returning to the plot happens in the next paragraph after a few deep breaths. One ... Two .... and relax. The conversation at Common was about the application of Stafford Beer's Viable System Model to new media so I thought I would a...
