Great Moments from the Campaign Trail - The Bull Moose

This is one of a series of 15 short VOD pieces I did for History, which won a Primetime Emmy Award. Called "Great Moments from the Campaign Trail," it was the network’s contribution to a larger effort in the cable community to help raise voter awareness in 2008. This particular short is entitled "The Bull Moose" and tells the story of an assassination attempt on Teddy Roosevelt while he campaigned for president in 1912. "The Bull Moose" represented the series at the 2007-2008 Emmys in the "Outstanding Special Class - Short Format Nonfiction Programs" category. Competition was Discovery's "Deadliest Catch" and NBC's "Jay Leno's Garage." And to my more historically minded friends - I'm sorry for excluding Eugene Victor Debs from the list of candidates in 1912! Debs actually received 5.99% of the popular vote in 1912, with a total of 901,551 votes. Please forgive the quality of the quicktime ... it was the only file I could get my hands on without making one from the original digibeta (which I will do someday).
