Galactic Desert Picture Slideshow

Photographed from the surface of the Earth using a digital camera, these beautiful images show the Milky Way galaxy in all its awe-inspiring glory. Created by the skill of amateur emerging snapper Bret Webster, these photographs are all the more remarkable because Bret, 51, has only been taking pictures for three years. Looking more like something that the Hubble Space Telescope would produce, Bret’s pictures are created with nothing more than the digital camera his wife gave to him and a tripod. Using the night skies of the national parks of his home state of Utah as his canvas, Bret has managed to create images that highlight the relative insignificance of the Earth in the cosmos.
