We only had to step out of the campsite to catch the water taxi to Watering Cove where our kayaks and guide were waiting. After a quick brief we set off. There were 4 kayaks each with 2 people in and as we were all beginners we took it slowly and were only taken into the calm section of the area. We don’t have too many photographs as not brave enough to keep getting the camera out. We did see some seals and as we headed back put up a DIY sail to give our arms a rest! Abel Tasman is a lovely place with golden sandy beaches and green water, the kayaking was a great experience and we had a much improved technique from the Funyaks. I should also mention the huge change in weather from Franz Josef. As you can see from the photos it was lovely and sunny but also hot. We have packed up the winter gear and dug out the sandals and shorts."
